I am a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, husband, father, former IT professional turned public school teacher, and resident of Manassas Park.
Our community is full of incredible people, families, businesses, and places for residents to work, play, and raise a family.
I am committed to serving you to help make sure everyone has access, opportunity, and resources to thrive in Manassas Park.
Priorities
Empowering Manassas Park Through Quality Education
As a public school teacher, Robert understands how important quality education is to our students, families, and our economy. He will work hard to ensure we attract, develop, and retain good teachers while also helping to ensure needed classroom supports, resources and technologies for teachers, students, and administrator success. He also advocates for career and technical education, careers in the trades, and building skills leading to successful workforce opportunities, good jobs, and brighter futures for our Manassas Park community and our surrounding area.
Focusing on Affordability for Manassas Park Families
Robert is committed to finding solutions that make Manassas Park more affordable for everyone -- from individuals, families, residents with differing abilities, and seniors to our veterans, business owners, renters, and homeowners.
Affordable and attainable housing is in great need in Manassas Park and all across Virginia. Robert comes from humble beginnings and knows what it means to work hard to get and keep a roof over your head for yourself and your families. Rents and home ownership is out of reach for many people and Robert is focused on ways to grow our housing stock for everyday people, those on fixed or limited incomes, and those in need.
Grow a healthy economy through enhanced economic development from new business and commercial revenue generation to help create jobs, support our parks and recreation, and reduce the tax burden on our residents.
Delivering Good Governance with Transparency and Accountability
Robert believes that our leaders must lead with transparency, integrity, and collaboration in local governance, aiming to create a community based on values unity, equality, and progress for everyone. As a volunteer Director for Manassas Park's Economic Development Authority, he works hard to ensure that our local economy continues to improve, that we communicate issues and opportunities plainly and in a timely manner that offers Manassas Park residents and businesses the chance to work together for the good of the Park. Robert will continue to do that as a member of the City Council.
